  • Okay, I'm at the Biloxi airport, an hour-and-a-half before my plane takes off. This is really boring. I don't see a TV anywhere around me, but the audio from the Pay-Per-View channel is blaring from the speakers in the terminal.

    If I hear "The Legend of Zorro! Order it now...on Pay-Per-View!" uno mas, I will do something that will probably get me thrown in TSA jail for the next 10 years. And it just may be worth it.

    Just wanted to share. Love y'all.

    P.S. That Walk the Line preview is not as cool on the thirteenth listen. But the cheery "discreet adult entertainment right at your fingertips" is pretty funny, considering the family audience trapped into listening to this.

  • Happy Mardi Gras, y'all! I start travelling again tomorrow. Ten days straight of working in Tyler, Texas. I won't be able to really visit. Once I get through the consecutive week-and-a-half evening shift, I'll be going to a family wedding near Austin. Still, pretty cool.

    One thing that I'll be doing this week is making a bet against my canniest, craftiest, most infuriating rival: myself. Details to come soon. Should be very cool if it works out.

  • No Jamaican Bobsled team this year. Bummer, mon.

    But we've got a Costa Rican cross-country skiier and a skeleton racer from Bermuda. Skeleton. That's what happened when someone said, "You know what's wrong with the luge? None of those sissies wants to go headfirst."

  • All right, who's the wiseguy who made me A Woman Pirate? Arrr, indeed.

    Next travel note: When I take off Monday to check out the Civil Rights and Art museums in Birmingham, I probably ought to check to see if the museums are closed on Monday. Hey, I get to sleep in, though.

  • I've got it all right. I've got a professional job, I get to travel, I have a sweet laptop and good friends, and God loves me. I love God, family, Baylor University, the Green Bay Packers in that order. I've been single a little past too long, but that's okay. Better good single than bad relationship. So here I be. I play sax and will slowly teach myself guitar. I'm grammatically fixated. I like the Net, PS2 and DVDs, but I also dig on ultimate frisbee, symphony, opera, contact sports, academic freedom, and systematic theology. The last good book I finished was...er...cripes. I like saying "Cripes!" a lot. I'd rather be in Chicago or New England, all things considered.
